Evolving as a UX/UI Designer at Paddy Power: A Journey of Learning and Application
Joining Paddy Power’s UX team in 2016 marked the beginning of my journey as a Product Designer. In this role, I was deeply immersed in an Agile environment within the Product Design Team, dedicating myself to creating engaging user experiences for both desktop and mobile platforms.
My primary project, the launch of the new Paddy Power app in 2018, was a pivotal learning experience. Here, I was hands-on in developing the UX, an opportunity that allowed me to apply and expand my knowledge in real-world settings. The challenge wasn’t just in the design aspects but also in comprehending and advocating the Design Thinking Process to stakeholders. This process was central to our iterative sprints and allowed me to actively contribute to each phase of development.
My role involved collaborating closely with my team, where I engaged in rapid prototyping for the Paddy Power betting apps. This hands-on approach was instrumental in making user-centric enhancements and in learning the nuances of prioritizing user satisfaction.
Utilizing tools such as user flows, personas, and prototypes, I was part of the team that facilitated agile iterations, constantly aiming to enhance the user experience. This period at Paddy Power was not just about contributing to the project; it was about personal and professional growth, honing my skills in a dynamic environment, and advocating for UX/UI design principles. The experience served as a solid foundation for my career, highlighting the importance of adaptability and continuous learning in the evolving landscape of digital design.
